hi there!
my husband's godchild is turning two years old in a few days and we needed to buy a gift. so we wanted to go to the mall, but that would mean driving a certain distance back and forth.
it would be the only reason for going to the mall and we thought that would be wasting gas. with the gas getting really expensive, we are really trying to plot out our route, including not going if it is not important.
thank God, my parents in law had plans of going to the grocery/supermarket. so we went with them. at least that saved us for gas.
before, when the gas prices are not so high, we would go out just for the simple reason of getting a sundae at mcdonalds, 3 blocks away from our house. we would bring the car for safety's sake, as we usually pass by a short cut that is not so secure.
we really have to be prudent with what we do now in order for us to maximize our money.
how about you? any ideas?
good day! and God bless us all! :)

I guess people are really starting to feel how most of us here in my country feels - that money is so hard up these days.
It's really quite difficult for most to adjust to these situations when there are things we never really took time to think about and now they are one of our most important concerns.
I know how you feel, it has been difficult lately, but I've come to adjust. I guess with prices these days, people would no longer tend to just go as they please, instead they would only stay home.
There's actually a good side to these. One of which is that people would now be forced to stay at home thus giving more time to spend with the family. Another positive insight would be enhancing our skills in budgeting and saving up rather than splurging on useless stuff.
My suggestion for the gift, is hmm.. try making something instead of buying stuff. Gifts don't really matter much to two year olds, and I'm sure the parents wouldn't mind too since they too would have felt the same way you are feeling now.
