Do you exercise very often?

I can say I have gotten into the habit of being lazy. Didn't realize how much I was out of shape until I decided to go fast walking with my 12 year old grandson who jogs every day. He plays both basketball and soccer and wanted to keep up his training this summer. He jogged and I fast walked. We did this in our pasture. He's been doing it every day in this hot weather. I made 6 laps and was drained.
I broke my hip and had to have a full hip replacement 7 years ago, so I don't job. But the doctor recommended walking. We got into the habit of walking every day. We'd go to the track some and I would walk around our property lots. I got up to two miles a walk, which was good. But I got out of the habit. A few times we have tried picking it up again, and it only lasted for a few days. I wondered why I hadn't been doing this every day with my grandson.
Fast walking is a good exercise and it would keep one in shape if you did it all the time. I even lost weight walking. I am going to try and get back in the habit both for my health and my weight. Right now, it's very hot, so I think we need to stick to late afternoons or early evenings. The 90+ degree weather and no win is not a good time for walking or jogging.

All of my kids are still very little, and rarely do I get away from them, so I stick to leisurely strolls, but lately Ive been trying to do a bit of excersizing in the house everyday. It probably won't last long, because it is a bit of a hassle to get up and do it. I do some crunches and leg lifts and that sort of thing, then I will play my Dance Dance Revolution video game for about 20 minutes until I'm sweating like a pig. I used to be able to do it for hours, but it's gotten a bit boring.

I used to do that all the time. The other day I was looking to buy some weights. It dawned on me I used to own dozens of sets of weights. I began buying them in my teens, and every so often would replace them because I hadn't used them and ended up losing them. I have bought so much excersize equipment that I would use for a short time and then put away never to see again.

I try to exercise at least 2 - 3 times a week by lifting weights and doing cardio. If you get out of the habit of an exercise routine for even just a week it can be very hard to get back into. It's very easy to get lazy with everything else there is to deal with. I've found that if you think about exercising too long you probably will just wind up saying forget about it. Best to take Nike's advice and Just Do It!

You are so right. Years ago, my husband and I were exercising regularly on the treadmill and exercise bike. Then he was transferred on his job to TN. He took his weights and weight bench and kept exercising, but I lost out with nobody to exercise with. And, when he came home, we just never got back into exercising regularly. That is something we do need to get back to doing regularly. We aren't getting any younger.

yes I excercise often, if it counts.
I walk up and down the stairs more than 100 times a day, to my rooms and to the kitchen etc.
I also do yard/ garden work and it takes a lot of my energy too. I don't get any help from my husband with the heavy duty yard work, so the digging of new spot for plants, yep I do it all.
I walk with my daughter. part of therapy - her community walk. we walk for 30 minutes and she learns the left and right before crossing etc.
I have a treadmill but don't have time anymore for it.
I wish to go on it soon.

Not like I should. Last year I rode a bike everyday with the kids and walked 2-3 miles a day with my husband. This year, I have been so busy taking care of my mom, I don't have the time.
The other day my husband used my van to go to work and left me his truck. I couldn't get it cranked, so I jumped on one of the kids bikes (mine got stolen) and rode to my moms. I thought my heart was going to explode! My mom liked to had a stroke! I told her I needed to ride a bike over there everyday instead of driving. I told my husband that I wanted a new bike because it would save gas and keep me in shape. It sure would help release this stress that goes with taking care of momma.
Just remember to drink plenty of water!

It would be nice to be able to ride a bike for exercise. We have a gravel driveway and I would never get on the road in front of our home. But you have a point about using it to save on gas. I, too, go to my Mother to help her since she's 91. But she lives 18 miles away which would make it impossible to ride a bike. Besides, I'm not good on hills at all. But, the bicycle is a great way to exercise! I have a stationary bike in the basement, but it's broke.

Maybe I need to dig that thing out!
