ok i have a choice at work. i can go to noon to 9pm monday through thrusday and then 10am to 7pm friday all saturdays and sundays off with a 50 cent raise. plus better business during that time. or i can go monday -thursday 8am to 5 pm and then every other friday 8am-noon and the other fridays 8-5. then every otehr saturday 8am-noon as well with sundays always off and every other saturday off. no raise and the business isnt as good. i have 2 kids 11 and 13 we home school them but my husband is the stay at home parent so the kids always have someone here. i can spend time with them in morning sine we home school too. i would always be here saturdays of i take the raise shift. what would you take the normal hours or the off beat hours. there is also more chance of promotion with the noon to 9 shift.

I would take the off hours with the raise. That will still allow you mornings for homeschooling.

Hi there easymoney75503! If you think that you should take the first option, I would say, Go Ahead! Well, for as long as it doesn't get in the way with your time for your children. I mean it is really important to spend quality time with your children. If it does eat much of your time for your family, I would opt for another option. Personally, I would choose the first option. That is because I do not have a family of my own yet and so I need not worry about that area.

It is so dependent on your circumstances. Do you need the extra money? Is it important to you to have a Saturday off every fortnight? I would personally take the better hours because I value my time more than money, but I'm lucky to be in a situation where I have both. Why not write a list of the pros and cons of each choice, and see which one comes out on top?

What kind of business is it? I think I would take the hours. .50 only equals $20.00 more per week. I would rather have the time off than opting for twenty additional dollars. You have to do what is right for you though. You have to weigh your options according to your life style. Maybe it would be to your advantage to take the raise, since you seem to have small children at home.
