Ignorant, Lazy People!

I know a lot of bad things happen in this world. There are a whole lot of sick and twisted people out there who do a lot of bad things that I don't want to hear about, let alone see! But tonight I saw something that I really wish I hadn't. I was out for a stroll with my kids. We were walking by an apartment building, it was a small building with 2 floors. I saw something out of the corner of my eye, and when I looked, I realized instantly what was happening. Somebody actually threw a cat out of a 2nd floor window! The cat was fine, and he was wandering around and sniffing a bush, it was obvious there was no harm done, so that settled my heart a bit. But what's troubling me is I don't think that was the first time or the last time this will happen to that cat. My guess is these people are quite lazy and won't walk down the stairs to let their cat out the front door. So they basically drop the cat out the window. I fear one of these days the cat will be hurt because of it. My first thought was to call someone, because that made me so angry to see that happen. I stood there staring at the window for the longest time, thinking what I should do, and hoping they saw me so they knew I saw them. But I don't have an address, and can't even begin to figure out which window it was. It wasn't an apartment window, it was a stairwell window. What do you think I should do? Should I call the ASPCA and tell them someone in this building is throwing cats out a window?

That is horrible. I can't believe someone could be so cruel. I would call someone. They can get in trouble for that.

I would call the manager of the building and the ASPCA NOW. Animal cruelty should not be taken lightly. so the cat wasn't hurt this time, what about the next time?

I e-mailed the local ASPCA. I am unsure of the name of the apartments, so I'm unable to call the manager, but it is the slummy area of my town, so my guess is the manager won't care.

OK that is really bad, and I think that you should report what you saw. There were a few cases of this around where I live not too long ago and the people involved were all prosecuted. I would have hated to see this happen it would have really upset me, I cannot bear to think of people being cruel to animals.

I did send an e-mail to the ASPCA with the information I had. Not sure if it was enough, but I left my phone number with them as well so if they need more information they can call me.

sometimes , I just dont get people . I am a huge animal lover , and this really would of hurt me , and I prob would of said something to the owner . That is just mean to do to an animal . Yes, cats are great landing on their feet , but what a stupid and risky thing to do . Few nights ago my mom was over and left the window open and my cats were up there , and i was freaking out Thought i was gonna have to call the fire truck , but i got them down with food thank goodness.

OmG, what are they trying to do? Killing the poor animals. That is not good. Animals have rights to to be treated like a human being. People think sometimes that they are more powerful than anybody on this planet. They forgot to realized that animals is also a inhabitant in our planet. They should be taken care of and do no harm.

I know how you feel. I have people in my neighborhood who are ignorant and stupid and they really do not want to take care of their pets. I have told people in my neighborhood that if I see their pets roaming around again begging for food and with no id on them, I will call the ASPCA because I am sick of it. These cats and dogs have rights and they need to be treated like everyone else. They need to have homes and they need to have food.

Oh my goodness that is so horrible and sad.I can imagine throwing a cat out the window .That is so mean.I would have called the ASPCA or the police and told them someone was throwing a kitten out the window from the second floor stairwell.Maybe they would be able to catch them.Of course the people would probably like and say they didnt do it.It makes me wonder why people get animals and do that to them. They should have not got them in the first place if they dont know how to take care of one let alone think of the poor animals feelings.

A cat - A cat that is chilling out.
I know that you at first didn't think that was really happening. I know it was a site to see. One of those moments that I call I have seen it all now. At least it was only a second story drop. I know that the cat may have been done like that more than once. I don't like the sound of that but what can I do. For things like that you have to use your best judgment. I don't know what I would have done if I was something like that. But use your best judgment on that, cause your not in the house so what really happen. You might not know, you only say the cat being throw out the window.

OMG - yes, call the ASPCA and tell them about it. I'm betting if you can tell them which building it is and that its the 2nd floor they can track it down from there. One of these days the cat won't be fine, so yes someone needs to be told. I had to call animal control this week and it about broke my heart. Someone had tossed out their cat and it ended up at my house. It had two injured legs. I thought maybe it was local so I fed it for a couple of days but finally I couldn't let it go longer, so I called them to come pick him up. I hated it, he was so friendly. If I could have afforded it, I would have had him treated and kept him.

That is such a horrible thing to do to a little animal. I hate it when people abuse animals. I would try calling the animal control in your area, hopefully it works like the one here, in MD. They have actual animal police officers who will go and investigate themselves. I had to call them myself one time, someone shot a blow dart into my dog. When the officer arrived, he was very very angry that someone did that to my dog, and told me that they did it to another around the corner. I hope they catch those people who threw the cat and prosecute them !

Yes, you should call ASPCA, and tell someone. Also call animal police to take care of animal cruelty. If I ever see a cat suffer the abuse, I would rescue it immediately. I would be very upset with people who cruel to animal. They are very innocent and do not deserve the abuse. Take cat to vet if you see someone do that again in case if the cat is injured. I am cat lover. I just got two kittens, but one of them belongs to my friend. I will not let anything happen to them.
