The humble cornish pasty is making its way up the ladder. Its makers are looking to put it in the same bracket as Jersey royal potatoes, and champagne,as well as Newcastle brown ale!!..if the effort is successful it would mean that anyone from outside of Cornwall could not call their pasty Cornish!!..So will it be the same if we have a Somerset pasty or a Japanese pasty?..got any ideas?

Good for Cornwall I say. It's high time that some of this EC palaver applied to British products. I'm entirely content with the notion of regional pasties or cheese etc. I love a good Cornish pasty. There's a very good shop just at the Lizard. I can taste it now. Yummy. Can't think of any other local delicacies yet. I'll let you know if I do.

There cannot be a pasty in this world that is equal to the taste of the Cornish pasty,we do have a very good one here in the UK called a Ginsters cornish pasty, they are great and have a darn good taste to them. But if wee go to the fish and chip shop we will always look for the Pukka pies sign.

Of course you can't call a pasty a Cornish pasty outside of bloomin' Cornwall. You ask any Cornish person that and they will tell you the same!! Ere you'll like my bumper sticker, 'Back off Pasty on board'

No..you are wrong!!but I couldnt tell you what I was thinking!!if I did I may have to swallow that cyanide pill!!..but I love Cornwall and Devon is a lovley place. Now I can tell you a little thing here,my hubbys uncle was a warder at Dartmoor, and he worked night shift there for twenty odd years!!he worked alongside all of the `lifers` and he got along `well` with them..his choice of words!but he was a skeletal man, white faced and he never looked well, the constant night work took it toll on him,we used to go and stay there sometimes,he lived in a warders house, and you would frequently see the prisoners out and about working in the place itself.I remember telling someone that story, but I seem to think it was Pike maybethnks hard now..can you hear the brain rattling??
