What I woke up to

My period was due July 11th. It's not here, it's late. Not a new thing for me since I have poly-cystic ovarian disease, and for the last week, I was out of metformin (a med that helps control it).
Anyway, I bought a dollar store pregnancy test yesterday, NOT THINKING that I would actually be pregnant. I intended on taking my metformin, since I got it refilled yesterday, and taking the test on Monday if my period hadn't came yet.
This morning, I just decided to go ahead and take the test, I knew it would be negative. It's always negative.
My first pregnancy required artificial insemination, fertility meds, and clomid. I figured there was NO WAY that I could be pregnant.
Well, to my surprise the test had 2 lines this morning. I then had my boyfriend go to the store for another test, and that one was positive too!We are very happy! Scared but happy!
Based on my last period, I'm about 6 weeks along.

I will pray for you. I ended up miscarring last month, and it's so devastating. I'm happy that i was able to get pregnant, but so sad that it didn't work out for us. We will try again, but I wish I knew "when". My pregnancy was so unexpected, but we accepted it and I was so happy for something that I wasn't even trying for. Sorta makes me want to try again now, but I think we are going to wait a little longer.

Wow! Congratulations. Pregnancy is a wonderful surprise for you. Sometimes people need help for the first pregnancy and when they are not trying for a baby they get one. I know a lady that tried to get pregnant for 8 years, gave up then got pregnant with twins. Life is strange and I am really pleased that despite your poly cystic ovarian disease you got pregnant. I wish you a healthy and happy pregnancy.

My son turned 2 in June, so he will be just about 3 when my new baby is born.
I feel so unorgnanized. I know I have time still, but I keep thinking who is going to watch my son when I have the baby? He has medical issues, and it's HARD to get a sitter. I guess by the time the baby is born, I can work something out.
I'm trying to not let stuff bother me, and relax but I keep thinking of things that I shouldn't be worrying about right now.
I started taking prenatals yesterday. That's another thing.... with my son I was so on top of things. I took vitamins BEFORE I was pregnant, didn't smoke, didn't drink caffeine but only once a week. With this pregnancy, since I had no idea, I've been so awful!

Thank you! I'm hoping to get to a doc this week. I don't have insurance, which was one of the BIG reasons we were waiting. Since my first pregnancy was an IUI, I really NEVER thought I could get pregnant on my own, but apparently, I can.
So now I need to figure out if I can get medical assistance and get to a doc ASAP.
HOpefully things will feel less messy next week.
Thank you for the wishes! I'm happy and excited, but still scared.
