Tragedy or Comedy?

Majority of Japanese people prefer to watch comedy. We can see lot of comedy stage shows in public function. Exhausted in the days work, people does not want to get into a tragedy movie again. I personally like comedy movies and programs. What about you? Do you prefer comedy?

It's interesting that in the US Japanese HORROR movies are so popular. I personally prefer horror and mystery to comedy. I have little interest in any modern American comedy movies. One of my favorite comedy movies is actually Japanese, "The Happiness of the Katakuris", and I like some old American comedies. But if I watch a 90 minute or two hour comedy movie that I don't think it's funny, that's a really bad experience. I think I'd rather watch half hour sit coms, and I really love the comic relief that comes up in most dramas or thrillers.

A mixture of comedy and horror will be a good combination. I have seen one such Indian movie, superhit in one of the southern state of India.
