I was just wandering? Do you go to yard sales when your
off on the weekend? There are a lot of good stuff out there
to pick thur.
Are you a digger, or does it have to be laid out on
a table.?
What was the last treasure you got at a yard sale?
I'D LOVE TO KNOW! ! ! ;-)

If I quit going to yard sales I would have to get a real job, full time. I only go to sales, hardly ever go to stores. I also go to flea markets thrift stores and think nothing of taking something I think I could make some money from, out of the trash.
There isn't enough bandwidth to tell you about all the deals I have gotten at sales. But the most resent one is of an old plastic silverware set I got for 10.00 and sold for $100.00.
I like the old stuff too and I'm a digger. Digging is great because not many people do it, especially way at the bottom of the boxes. I'll empty everything out of the box if I "feel" there might be something good there.
I collect old sewing buttons, they could be anywhere...

Lol, if you think that was good, you will like my story of how I made $1000.00 off a box of old pipe stems I found in the trash.
That's the beauty of collecting old buttons. Not many people do and not many people know their value. I sold one for $20.00 once, that was 20 years ago and I let it go cheap because I needed the money. If I had it today I could get twice that for it. Buttons are fun to collect and sell. When I go to sales, I'll ask if they have some I may have missed. Often they will say "No but I have some in the house" and they will run in and get them.
I have been selling antiques for about 25 years, had a couple of shops and have managed a couple. Now I sell at flea markets and on ebay and have a couple of little online stores.

I never thought of sewing buttons being worth money.
Or do you just collect.
That is a good way to make money.
How or who do you sell to. You must have a clientele
To be able to resell for $100.00.
That is great.! :-)

YARD SALE is NOT usual in the Philippines where I am right now, but if there is one... I will surely visit it because I believe that I could still find a treasure in what other people might think to be a garbage already. But there is what we call... UKAY-UKAY in my country where used or second hand clothing and apparel could be brought but still I managed to find BRAND NEW ONES which seems to have weird sizes that perfectly fit me. So there you go... I do go to UKAY-UKAY and buy clothes that I find nice and still new. REALLY A TREASURE!!! LOL

I love going to Garage sales!, even if I don't buy something at a sale I love looking. But ya never know what great stuff you will find, and that is the fun of going to these sales. When I go to a sale "I'm" just looking for things that catch my eye, I also like looking for cheap books, and we all know how much they cost these days.

I look for things that catch my eye too.
I like to get space savers for my house.
We all know how expensive though are
at retail stores.
It's nice to hear how everyone likes
different things.

I went yard saling with my brother about a month ago now. That was the fist time in over a year. When I lived in Ga I went all the time with my Mom. I love going because you can get nice stuff. Sometimes people put brand new items out that they just decided they didn't want.
I found two Fenton bowls at yardsales for a dollar each!

People put antiques in yard sales. A lot of
times they don't even know what they have.
Yesterday I found a doll that was made in
1970. It was in great shape.

The last time I went to a yard sale was back in 2003. I don't recall getting any clothing from there although I observed there were some displayed. I do recall that I bought a huge stuffed toy, the teddy bear type. I decided to give it as a Christmas gift to my friend. In my aunt's neighbourhood there were often yard sales going on. I'm not really much of a digger though.

I go to yard so sometimes. I like to dig if it on tables
or something. I'm not getting on the ground. But you never
know what kind of stuff you can find. The box might be
marked 1.00 $ each. One time I found a gold chain and
diamond earrings. So you never know.
