Need some help about gif images?

Use photoshop. With photoshop you will also get image ready. So first extract the images seperately in image ready then edit with photoshp. Then again image ready to make it animated.

You will need a good photoediting program like Paint Shop Pro or Photoshop. The image is probably 300 pixel. Drop this to 72 and the size will shrink. You can also reduce it somewhat by "save as" and specify JPG - that's smaller.

There is a free gif animator check this link http://ms-gif-animator.en.softonic.com/ You can use this to change the order of animation and set the time one is displayed, unfortunately this is only very good for adding the animation frame. You still need an editor to edit the individual frames. But since gif is limited to 256 colors you can use ms paint to do simple color change. Have you checked if 256KB is the max allowed because I find that still very large for a gif. The bigger the file the longer it will load and sometimes it will not animate. If you are planning to use it as an avatar then stick to the 100x100 pixel and limit the file size to very less than 100kb.
