Syndicated U.S. columnist and former "Crossfire" host Robert Novak has been diagnosed with a brain tumor and is suspending his journalistic work. Novak issued a statement Monday saying the tumor was found Sunday after he had been rushed to Boston's Brigham and Women's Hospital from Cape Cod, where he was visiting his daughter. The Chicago Sun-Times columnist says he is suspending his journalistic work for an indefinite, "but God willing, not too lengthy period." His statement did not say if the tumor was malignant. http://news.aol.com/story/_a/columnist-robert-novak-diagnosed-with/n20080728131909990008

As a journalist and as a cancer survivor all my sympathies are with Bob. With the present advances in medicine, most cancers are curable. I had stage IV pancreatic cancer almost six years ago and am now back to normal life after extensive surgery - don't have a gall bladder, a part of my stomach and omentum has been chopped off, but I am now back to a normal diet and put in about 10-12 hours of work on most weekdays. I have even started participating in passion since youth -active and adventure sports about five years ago and most people tell me that I perform far better than youngsters in their 30's in these sports. So I am sure that he will get over with it soon. Thanks for the information.

OOps too many typos, I hate reviewing my responses before posting them, but I guess the message must have come through!

I do not know him personally, but I hope he gets better. I have not watched Crossfire for some time. At least he is getting something done before it gets worse. Now my question, how can I comment or respond to this discussion? I can only offer my sympathies to him and his family. I cannot say that I like his discussion with so and so as there were probably so many.
