Deep Maroon Day Lily

This is from my neighbors yard abutting my yard. I couldn't resist this shot. I love the deep maroon with the bright yellow center of this Day Lily. A beautiful combination of colors. I just wanted to share this here is all. Do you have day lilies in your yard? Maybe close to you? I love watching the various bees and butterflies sucking the nectar of the stamens.

That is a lovely little flower! You take a good picture! There is a garden down the road from me and they have a beautiful garden, no lillies though just roses but gorgeous all the same.

I love taking photos.
This shot was the result of 6 shots I took total.
Until I get that great shot I keep snapping away.
Gotta love the digital era huh?

My daylilies are some of the plants that need a new sunnier spot to bloom in. There is a house down the street with a little short fence and daylilies and peonies all outside it. They are neat to see.

We just got 3 day lily plants from my wifes boss this past May.
They won't flower till next year though it seems.
They were small plants.
We also got one of those "Snowball" bushes.

I saw some like this in someone's yard the other day and had to stop the car and look! They are so beautiful! I love lilies, I wish the blooms could last all year long.

I have a few daylillies & a few of tigerlillies. They were here when I bought the house. They were beautiful every year until this year. We are low on rain & it turned HOT very early in the season. My dog, bless his lil ol heart, used my flowerbed as his place to stay cool...thereby crushing my lillies before they had a chance to bloom. I'm hoping next year they will bounce back. I've been told they should; but I guess only time will tell. Maybe next spring I will have a few pictures of my lillies. :)
