They have a list of 15 Reasons he was the best neighbor ever. I think some of these are really great. Here is reason #2.I think it is my favorite. He made thieves think twice. According to a TV Guide piece on him, Fred Rogers drove a plain old Impala for years. One day, however, the car was stolen from the street near the TV station. When Rogers filed a police report, the story was picked up by every newspaper, radio and media outlet around town. Amazingly, within 48 hours the car was left in the exact spot where it was taken from, with an apology on the dashboard. It read, "If we'd known it was yours, we never would have taken it Did you watch the show? Here is the link to the rest of the list. http://www.cnn.com/2008/LIVING/wayoflife/07/28/mf.mrrogers.neighbor/index.html

Ah, Nostalgia. I think I remember some college having Mr. Rogers give the speech at their graduation. Not everyone was impressed, but I think he has contributed a lot. Generally, those who contribute to the betterment of children get a lot of respect from me. I don't think this guy did it to make it rich. I think it did it to help children and that, for me, makes all the difference.

Yes, I watched the show as a youngster, when we had electric and televison anyhow. I think I watched it more after I was older and had babysitting jobs. The kids loved it. I did to. No violence nobody dying and it was informative and kids learned things they needed to learn in life. Not like cartoons we have now days. I am thankful it is still on to this day so kids can still learn and taught to use their imagination.
