Say NO to stress snacking! just pop a mint and take a walk or listen to music. If you nibble while cooking, watching TV or talking on the phone you'll pack on the pounds.Start a rule that you'll eat only when sitting at the dinner table.
Pay attention to hunger pains, lot of eating are emotional, don't eat when you are not hungry! A handful of snacks here and there can lead to some major pounds everywhere.
Beware of portions, even a snack sized bag of chips can leave you feeling sluggish because they are packed with fat and are low in protein and fiber.
Skip the soda, one can of soda is 150 calories as much as three small cookies! Juice, coffee and energy drinks are loaded with sugar and are an unnecessary addition to your daily calorie intake.
Do you discipline yourself enough to stay away from all the not so good food?

There are times when I do really well at staying away from the not so good food and there are other times when I don't. A lot of those don't times are when I am at work and it's like 3am and I'm bored out of mind. That's when the Doritos from the vending machine start getting bought. LOL
I agree with you though, you have offered up some really good advice to keep snacking at bay. When I'm at home if I get a craving I usually try to do something else whether that's take my dog outside for a quick walk, or maybe get on the computer or call my parents and just talk to them. Other times too I will grab a tall class of water because sometimes what you mistake for being hunger pains is really just dehydration and most times water will do the trick.
Soda is my weakness though, but diet soda. I know it doesn't have the calories but it does have the sugar substitute aspartame and sodium. I try to only drink one can while I'm at home before I go to work and then a 20 oz while I'm at work, the rest of the time I try to drink water. It's a lot easier to drink water at work because we have those big water jug machines so I can constantly keep my water bottled filled.

Thats my problem I tend to snack too much when I'm home. If I'm out somewhere shopping or whatever I don't get hungry and want to snack, but if I'm just home, I start snacking, I guess I get bored or something. I try not to snack on things that aren't good for me, just today I bought some 100 calorie baked cheetos snacks. One pack is supposed to be only 100 calories, and I like cheetos, so I thought maybe it won't be too bad for me. I do need to start drinking more water, I don't drink near enough, I do alot of exercise and I sweat alot, so I know I need to keep hydrated.

Do you know what! I think I do some emotional eating too.
I eat sometimes when am not hungry. I do know better, but at times it seems irresistable. I would like to snack more on fruits. I am a great lover of bread, and since I dont have bread in the house for a few days now,I have decided I will resist buying it for the time being. Everyone else is out on holidays.
I am going to try and discipline my eating practice.
Thanks for the tips.

Thanks for the tips, I suggest too that instead of eating chips or cookies maybe one should eat fruit instead. Also eating a full meal like lunch could help you get away form work slugishness. Also instead of coffee try drinking fruit juice because it packs too energy without the caffeine

I eat on almost a continuous basis, all day. I am the same weight today that I was when I turned 13, 49 years ago. I don't gain and I don't lose.

I appreciate your input of your posting of eating right and the fact you shouldn't always eat when you are not hungry. I do agree that certain things are just packed with sugar. Coffee for instance, does contain a lot of caffeine and I admit that I have grown addicted to it over the past several years. And yes there can be a feeling of sluggishness after drinking it or eating other things that can't be beneficial to our health.

You know what! sometimes I do eat for eating sake. Sounds crazy, doesn't it? When am occupied I eat less.
I dont drink lots of juices any more likewise sodas. I would like to stop using sugar. I have kept it out the house for a week, but then bought it agin.
I am trying to eliminate it totally.
I try to drink plenty of water.
I am not a chips person, but I must be honest and tell you that I eat lots of bread.

,keep it up!good day and cheers...
