Yesterday i caught the bus to my mothers, and contrary to what anyone thinks ,no I dont live there!I just keep a good eye on her.The heat has made her legs swell badly so she is a little immobile at the moment. The bus pulled up to the bus stop, and I held my little old dog tightly,he has a job to get on the bus!! I politely asked the driver for a single to Codnor,he looked me up and down, then he said in a gruff voice"What about the dog",I went a bit pink and said that I had no idea that the dog had to pay(and he had left his purse at home),the driver went on "oh yes,Trent buses have a policy with dogs, half fare",so I proffered the half fare as well as my fare,..but he went on to give me a lecture, the bus was packed ,and by then my face was red!!.."Ok yes well take his fare"...the driver is by now enjoying himself,"Theres a bloke that gets on at Heanor and hes got a dog I allus charge him,cos I DONT like him"..."OK thats no worries just take the half fare!"...."No "..he says "I love dogs..off you go!!"...so im still left wondering what on earth all of that was about!!!!

That was quite a story! I have no idea what the point the
driver was trying to make. Was he just trying to see if
you would pay the fare for the dog? That wasn't very nice.
I have no clue. In the end he didn't take the fare. Maybe
he was just trying to amuse himself at your expense. Well.
it seemed to have ended in your favor. So ruby, I hope you
and your dog enjoyed the trip anyway!
