Passions-Its all Coming to a close

For all you Passions fans that lost track when they moved to DirecTV, for those that couldn't keep up with the new schedule and couldn't watch for one reason or another, the show will be shortly coming to a close. After ten years, the craziest soap opera known to man, Passions, will soon be going off the air for good. I don't know how many episodes we have left, but knowing they stopped taping in May, hearing that we would only get episodes throughout the summer, and knowing Mr. James E. Riley's writing style, its not much left. Let me recap what is going on right now, and you can ask me any fill-it-in questions you may have in response: Antonio Lopez-Fitgerald is back in Harmony. Turns out that he wasn't on the plane that Alistair blew up, and was kept prisoner (but very well fed, as they brought back the original actor and he dun got padded lol. He's a little fluffy) anyway, he came back during the four wedding ceremony they are having (Luis and Fancy, Miguel and Kay, Noah and Paloma, and Gwen and Ethan's re-commitment ceremony) to reclaim Sheridan. She fought it for a minute but Antonio has learned that the past lives stuff had something to it, and believes they are meant to be together instead of Sheridan and Luis (duh he's marrying YOUR NIECE!!!) so she finally gives in to try. Meanwhile there is a woman who vows to kill Pilar Lopez-Fitzgerald and her entire family because she believes Pilar was the cause of her family being killed. Juanita Vasquez, the woman in question, has a bomb in the basement set to go off. But you know how Passions is. It was set for 20 mins when the bomb was first set and shown. They've been showing it for a whole week, had three of the four weddings, and we've still got about 9 1/2 mins on the durn thing!!! Anways you may have been led to think that since Ethan and Gwen are having a re-commitment ceremony that Teresa is out of the picture. Well, at least Ethan thinks she's dead. What happened was Gwen found out Pilar's secret about Juanita a while ago. Gwen told Pilar that she'd better keep Teresa away from Ethan, and not tell that little Ethan was his child or she would call Juanita and tell her where she was. Pilar tried to keep this from Teresa yet live up to her end of the bargain, but finally she told. Teresa got the bright idea she could talk to this crazy woman and went down to Mexico to do so so she could tell Ethan the business. Long story short she got thrown into the ocean and thought to be eaten by sharks. We find out that she was rescued by secret agents and kept in hiding from Juanita (Did I tell you she was a mobster?) in hopes to catch her. Teresa aint going for that so she finds a way to break loose and get back to Harmony. She gets back, but knows if she were to tell anyone she was alive Juanita would come to find her and her family, so she disguises herself as an ugly nanny that takes care of the kids for Gwen and Ethan while they try to rekindle their relationship, for the kids sake of course. Fast forward some more, Lil Ethan, Paloma, then Pilar find out that the nanny, "Gertrude" is actually Teresa. Gwen and Rebecca find out a little while later, but they keep quiet because if Ethan found out he would never re-marry Gwen. Meanwhile Juanita tracks them down, finds out about the weddings, and hence sets the bomb in the church. And she just found out that "Gertrude" is Teresa, and supposedly shoots her on Monday (Nothing's changed, never trust the promo reel) To sum things up the bomb is not the only thing to worry about. Tabitha and Endora know that a Volcano is bound to erupt in Harmony. Tabitha has lost her powers and Endora is a teenager (For more on that backstory, you will have to ask) So I am just waiting on Monday to see where Mr. Riley takes it. Since I've wasted so much time on it the past 4-5 years I have to see where it all is going to end. Any questions you guys? Consider me the Passions guru! I can tell you what you need to know!

Liza Huber Susan's daughter gave birth on Susan's 60th birthday, so Susan is a grandmother. Her parents are Jeanette and Victor Lucci.

That is so wonderful! Did you know that Susan Lucci's daughter, I forget her real name now but she plays Gwen on Passions? And on top of that, Susan Lucci's mother is Phyllis Diller!

There's four episodes left - they are airing it Monday to Thursday next week, and that's it. I can't believe it's this close to the end. I loved that stuff Tabitha said a couple of episodes ago about it being the end for Harmony and "even DIRECT intervention can't help now." I just hope a lot of the cast members find work elsewhere. So far all I know is Andrea Evans is back on One Life to Live, but other than that I haven't heard anything about any of them.

I thought I was the only one that has been noticing J.E.R letting NBC have it through Tabitha, Edna, and Norma! The way I see it from the last episode, this was a plot from the beginning. Slowly suffocate the soap. First, they take it from its prime spot on NBC and placed it on subscription TV, a specific one at that. Then you take the soap from five days to three, the only thing I liked about that was the Thursday replay so I could catch up if I had something to do that day. But its like the bowl said on Wednesday (again, what I got from it) A new big-wig in NBC with the initials JK came in, and is killing NBC slowly, and it started with Passions. Sure, it was a dumb soap, with people who couldn't hear people three feet away and surely had to live next to a power plant to be that dumb lol. But we were addicted to it dammit because they were good at playing "keep the secret."!!! I could have stood for them to end it on NBC, not watching it suffer like this!

Now, you will have to point me in the direction of Andrea Evans. Which character is that now?

Andrea Evans is Rebecca. For years she was on One Life to Live playing Tina Lord, I think she started that role when she was a teenager. When she first left OLTL they replaced her, but eventually they wrote Tina out altogether. Andrea was on The Bold and the Beautiful for awhile before Passions, but now she's back on OLTL as Tina. I don't watch it now but I did watch it years ago when she was on.

wow I can not believe it has been 10 years. I remember when Passions was debuting and I thought Oh Great another soap opera. I remember when Another World went off the air, it was quite sad and they tried to bring in some other soap opera that did not make it for very long , I mean I think it did not make it to a second season, then Passions came on and we all thought it would not last either but it sure did....I would love to write a soap opera but I know I could not keep up with it it would be so much work to come up with some really crazy stuff. If only I could come up with a reality soap opera show....oh wait they do those already too....

Now that they are off the air I wonder what show will capture our hearts the way that they did. I know, this was the stupidest soap opera on Earth. They had some dumb storylines and twists that would have you yelling at the TV. They always got on our nerves, but the fact of the matter is, it takes great writing skill to be able to get that deep into people's psyche like that. There may be other soaps, but only one Passions.

I would really be surprised if Theresa and Ethan don't end up together. I'm sorry to see its almost over, as it was a very different soap. People knew it would take awhile to see something happen, so they didn't have to worry about missing episodes. Good luck to all the actors getting new jobs. I know one is going back to One Life To Live. She was great on each soap that she has been on over the years.

Thanks for the update. I was wondering what was happening on there. I can't believe the show has been on for 10 years. WOW, I can't believe the couples that are getting married. Since the show is ending I thought they would have let the right couples get married such as Luis and Sheridan and Theresa and Ethan. I'm glad Noah and Paloma is getting married. I can't believe that someone wants to kill Pilar. Pilar is such a nice sweet lady who wouldn't harm no one. Keep us updated!

I haven't given up on Theresa and Ethan yet! There's only four days left but I'll be absolutely shocked if they aren't together by the last episode.
