Real mashed potatoes or Flake Instant Mashed Potatoes....

I dont see it as cheating using flake mash but I just dont like the taste of it!my sister in law used to use it regularly and she would put plenty of butter and pepper with it,and try to create a real tasting mashed potato,but it just didnt work!there is nothing to equal a good creamy mashed potato,with butter and pepper added and then whipped up until its very creamy.

I always finsih boiling the potatoes,then I drain them,then i put them back on the hot ring and shake the pan until the potaoes are dry,and usually they start to crumble a little bit,then I add some butter,and a little pepper,and I mash them well,then last of all i add milk or cream and then I whip them with the wooden spoonand usually they turn out fine.

I would go for the real mashed potatoes. Nothing beats like the real thing.

I definitely prefer actual mashed potatoes. They taste so much better and turn out fluffier than those boxed mashed potatoes. I also like that they turn out much creamier than the boxed potatoes do to. Nothing beats homemade that's for sure.

i don't think it's cheating but i prefer the real thing. i have used the flakes & i can't ever get them to taste like anything but instant potatoes.
