The cable guy never came

We just bought a LCD TV and my boyfriend is all about getting this thing running ang going just how it should be but me, I am not as enthused about it and just happy we have a picture but he did subscribe to COMCAST for high definition and it does look better but now theres a problem. The first one we bought my bf was not happy with the picture, it was a Sharp we got from Walmart because all the VIZIO's were out (im not a fan of this one anyways), so we took that one back. We went over the BJ's (a wholesale store) and purchased a 37 inch Toshiba but now we have purple and green lines running up it when its plugged into the outlet behind the entertainement center but not when we plug it into a different outlet. The frustration is that my boyfriend made three trips before going to work because the people at COMCAST could not get it right and give him the right cables and equipment, so today we were supposed to have a technician come over and hook it up for us with a HDMI box (which they originally said they did not have at the one comcast office) but the CABLE GUY NEVER CAME. My kids are cranky because they have been sitting around the house and now I dont want to go out because Ive been sitting around too long and am back in my pajamas. Unfortunately, I lost my phone so I dont have anything to call them with and my boyfriend is going to come home all excited only to find the same tv. Is LCD TV technology still too new?Did you ever have your cable guy miss his appointment?
