hi wonderice!
i'd only be interested with what other people's were reading if i saw an interesting picture in a book they're holding or if i see an interesting headline in the newspaper they're reading. i'd take a peak and see if i can read the caption on that picture or if the headline has a picture beside it. if i can read something from it without being obvious, i'd probably read it, look at the title and search for it some where if its a book. if its a newspaper though, i wouldn't buy the same issue.

Hello wondericequeen,
Whenever I am traveling using public transports, I will only be in my own fairytale wonderland. I don't care about others as I will definitely absorb with whatever I am doing that time. Very seldom for me to meet someone who has the same interest with me while on the road *laughs*

I can't see well enough to see the titles of someone else's book, but if the book seems interesting, then I will ask them what they are reading. I spend a lot of time at a local coffee shop, frequented by a lot of students. They are always reading and studying interesting things.

I do this a lot. I haven't been using public transportation lately, but if I'm in a coffee shop and see someone reading, I always peek. Also, if I'm at a bookstore or library, I'll try and see what the person if front of me is checking out or buying. For a long time I thought this was just one of my odd habits until someone approached me and actually started an interesting conversation about a book I was reading. After that, I didn't feel so bad.

you know what i miss riding on jeepneys or buses because i hardly go anywhere else using these vehicles. i normally use my car.. but when during my college day i use these vehicles as my transportation to any places i would like to go to. and whenever i see co-passengers reading a news paper beside me and if i find what his reading is, i take a peek to it. haha!

It depends actually. I have very good habit of reading and I read very fast and finish off books without any much problem. And I'm always interested in what others are reading. If a book looks interesting, then i do not hesitate to ask them what the title of the book is and who the author is. But I seldom find people reading books these days.. All they want to read is about politics and sports.. Although sometimes I just try to peek and look at what they are reading if the person looks irritated or I feel that asking would cause trouble...

Yes, wondericequeen, I am always interested in what book a person is reading. On airplanes, I am constantly trying to take a quick look at people's books! I guess I am just curious by nature. I just don't want there to be a book out there that I don't know about.

While traveling whether by train or by air I carry books. I am also very curious about what other people read. At least I try to get a glimpse at the title of the book. I love to see books in the books store in train station and at the airport. If I find any interesting title other people are reading I try to read at least the review of that book if not the whole book. In fact I am more interested in the books people carry that their dresses, looks etc.

When I'm in a public transportation, I'm too busy reading a newspaper to notice what other people are reading... I don't take public transportation too many times but about 2 - 3 times a year, my girl friend & I goto downtown & that's when we take subways...

Yes, I do this. I also try to see what other people are reading when they are reading the cafeteria at work. If they are in line with the book and lay the book on the counter, I sometimes glance at it and, if it looks interesting, ask them about it or if they like it. I wonder whether that makes me nosy or just curious? LOL
