In my home country Home and Away is taking a three week break. It ended on the cliff hanger of Jack asking her what is going on. Martha is pregnant. Roman has information leaflets on DNA testing and Martha has booked an amniocentesis. We are behind the Home and Away episodes that are shown in Australia.

I didn't realise how close behind us you are with Home and Away - I always thought you were months behind. We're on the same story line. I'm not going to tell you what happens because it will spoil it, but let me tell you, we have a huge cliff hanger here while the show stops for the Olympics, which are on the same network. I love the way they always get around in summer gear in Summer Bay, even though it's supposed to be set south of Sydney. If they really dressed like that they would freeze, and the actors must get very cold filming the outdoor scenes here in Sydney and a little bit further north.

The actors are told to look as if the weather is warm and even when it is a cool day they have to wear summer like clothes. One girl was in a bikini and she said she was cold. She was told that she was to get on with it and look as if she was enjoying herself. One guy had to eat a banana and the scene kept going wrong so it had to be done over and over again. Palm Beach with the lighthouse on the hill and the national park behind it is a lovely location however it must be hard work to be an actor on Home and Away. Oh, I am longing to know what happens to Martha.

Yes, I saw many expensive and desirable looking homes in Palm Beach. I was staying in the backpackers hostel in Avalon, another lovely area. It is a shame that wild koalas are more difficult to spot these days. The only place that I have seen them was on Magnetic Island.

Palm Beach is lovely - I used to live quite close to there and have been there many times. It used to be very quiet because it's quite a long way out from town, but it's expensive to live there now! You would have seen some of the mansions on the beach. When I was a kid there were wild koalas out there. I doubt there's any now.

I haven't watched that show in years, since we moved to Samoa in 2000. I don't think we got Home and Away in Samoa.
