a good boss must be able to relate to his subordinates well using the personal touch rather than a dictatorial approach. he must with minimal supervision, be able to entrust to his staff certain projects so they can develop self confidence.

A good boss can make the best out of his subordinates. A good boss could always improve strengths of the employees while turning weaknesses into strengths. It isn't an easy thing to do for a supervisor. A good team reflects to the boss most of the time as well. One of the unwritten responsibility of a supervisor is to help the employee grow professionally and even personally. And most of all, he/she should be fair to all. No favorites and no taking sides. He should exemplify the vision and mission of the company not only to his subordinates but to the rest of the employees as well. When outside of the office, he/she should exemplify a good friend.

I would say it is someone who has the company and it's employees best interest at heart. He listens to his employees and tries to make a plesant work environment for them. He is also accomidating to them and can make sacrfices for others and is fair and particial to all.

hi jag...i had one real good boss and one close to it. the good one lightened our spirits in the middle of a stressful day. she would solve problems and help under pressure instead of add to the problems like other bosses. i really appreciated Bren.
