Well the first thing that popped into my mind was for you to send him money, I am not sure of how well the two of you are acquainted but if you have extra money it might help him at least to buy a meal for his family. I know that a lot of people are stubborn against anyone who wishes to give them money but let him know that you are not doing it out of pity for him losing his job but so that he may provide for his family and that it may help mend whatever is going on in his home. If you can not do that then buy him a gift not only he but his family can enjoy. Maybe teas or fruits. I hope that you have a very wonderful and lovely day.

well just keep on talking to him, even sending quotes to brighten his day, few words of wisdom...you just have to let him feel that no matter what, even if he tries to avoid you, you are there for him...or maybe you just thought he is avoiding you, but maybe he was just too depressed and feels like dying inside but he doesn't know who and where can he turn too..maybe he was just waiting the right time that he can totally open up with you...let him feel that you are a friend no matter what... Hi riyasam, I guess as a true and real friend, you can extend your help in any ways...Your presence if possible, financial help or just call him everyday to motivate him that life has always hope when we believed...He is just shock maybe and for sure he will just recover and start looking for another job to start again!
