Did you know that queen Elizabeth was considered exceptionally clean by her coutiers because she took a bath once a month!
Louis XIV had five baths in his entire life... and he lived to be 42!!
Well I am 44, and wouldn't like to think that I would have only had five baths in my whole life. I have a bath every day as to the rest of the family. Things have changed since I was a girl as we used to have a bath on sundays, Tuesdays (middle of the week) and on a friday.

Times have dfintely changed. Most Americans now take a daily bath or shower but I've read in several places that most Europeans think we overdo it.

Yes, times have definitely changed. That could be why they had such short life spans. Maybe the lack of cleanliness helped to allow bacteria and such things to grow. It is amazing how much the world and things have changed from personal hygene to technology.

Well, think about those drafty old castles they lived in! 
I couldn't imagine going that long without bathing. I shower every morning or I feel funky all day.
