What can a writer do to protect what they write online?

I have started writing more and more at various websites including Triond and I sometimes wonder if I should be doing anything to try to protect my articles and stories. Does anyone have any tips or advice about how to copyright or otherwise protect the articles we submit to publishing sites?

It's going to be difficult
. I have some articles in Triond. There was once I noticed that someone copied my entire article to his website
. I'm losing pageviews for that. The only link he put was my byline - a link to all my other articles. I have yet to contact him to remove it. But if you have many articles in store, how can you keep track of all of them.

Good question, Sydney. This is why I asked about this. I have about 5 stories at Triond and am wondering what can I do to protect them. Maybe I should write to Triond directly at their support email and ask them. Thanks for your reply.

I'm not sure how you would do it. I think some of the sites consider the material you submit to be copyrighted in some way. I know one time I submitted an article to Associated Content and I could not print it. It was in there system. Maybe they do protet your material in some way.

Interesting. I think I will go peruse AC and see if I can copy or print anything there. Would be nice to see if it can be done.
