I think to an extint we all could be shallow. But i try very hard not to be. I accept people for who they are. I listen to their hearts and not look at their physical beauty. What about you?? Would you date someone who was over weight, disfigured, disabled, had missing teeth or hair, skin problems?. Would you try to get to know the person on the inside rather thn the outside?? Would you hire on of these people if you were a boss. Read what China did to one little girl simply because she didnt have their ideal image. I AM OUTRAGED!!! That little girl looked very cute to me (the one they didn't choose) Even is she wasnt cute. She had a wonderfuls singing voice. Look at Clay aiken. He got far on his voice alone. Sorry but its just wrong. By the way i wanna say hi to all my old friends. I miss you all. Heres the story http://sports.yahoo.com/olympics/news?slug=ap-china-lip-synchedsong&prov=ap&type=lgns

I think there are lots of shallow people. Why do you think it's only beautiful people in movies, on TV, in magazines? We wouldn't be interested half as much is why. I'm overweight, with discoloured, crooked teeth (and some missing), my nose is bent, I have drooping eyelids and thick coarse hair. No-one wants to date me and I wouldn't date me either looking as I do. I wonder how the facts of the matter affected that little Chineese girl with the lovely singing voice? That was such a shame. So, how are you doing? Married to that man of yours yet? It's sooo good to hear from ou...it's been ages.

I wasn't surprised that the kid was lip syncing, that was pretty obvious. I was appalled to find out why she was lip syncing though. Because the original kid wasn't cute enough. Unreal. The Chinese wanted to put up such a perfect front, and now look at it. You're right, it's so wrong!!

Thanks for that, China is very scary. if they have to be perfect in every way. But I also think in the US we are the same. they hire people partially on looks. Even at fast food restaraunts. if you have bad teeth or no teeth at all. They wont hire you. And God forbid if you want to be on tv, Reality shows and even the news . Not many ugly people ith bad teeth there lol. shrugs. Oh well Thanks again.

That is horrible and what is more horrible is the way the Chinese train their atheletes. They go to the villages and get little girls and boys and train them under strict regimen to be athletes. Do you know that in gymnastics, they bend the backs of little girls backwards and if they cannot do it, bend it even more? The children learn nothing else. And if you do not succeed, you get sent back to your village with the shame that you were not good enough. And the Olympics is for amateurs. Well the Chinese are not amateurs, these are professionals. If the little girl could sing, she should have been allowed. They can fix her hair, makeup can do wonders, and they can fix her teeth. I cannot date anyone as I am already married, but I would date someone who looks and sounds good to me: Brown eyes, and dark hair are a positive plus. and being a man.

Hello suspensful. Thanks for your opinion on this. But why do they even need to fix anything. I dont see a point in that kind of judgement. not saying you are judging just saying the Chinese people should accept this little girl. thanks

Hello Snow!!!! Long time no hear from you. I have missed you a lot. How are things going for you?? As for the subject of being shallow...........I try to accept people as they are. I agree that what China did was not the right thing to do. I wonder what kind of residual effect it will have on the two girls later in life when they are old enough to understand what their country did to them.

I, personally, think that this is inexcusable. I used to be a person who was impressed by the outward, but have since learned that the most valuable assets a person possesses are internal.
