Well I just spent a time chatting with the Insurance Company that owns the property where dad fell at on July 22nd. Seems things are going my way. Wooo Hooo! They are sending release forms for his medical records from the ER that day and have offered to pay up ro %5000 towards any future bills related to this fall/injury. So hopefully since they are paying this bill I hope to have no more calls from the hospital billing department. Have you hAD INSURANCE HASSLES WITH AN INJURY ON PRIVATELY OWNED PROPERTY SUCH AS MY DAD DID? dID IT GET RESOLVED QUICKLY?

Up to $5000 - what if it goes over that? I think it's great that they're offering something, but I would be reluctant to sign anything with a set amount. What if he has complications later that you can relate back to this fall? You will have signed a release and won't get any further help.
I know it sounds good, but honestly, I think they're getting off cheap. Have you talked with a lawyer?

The things I plan to sign are "medical release forms". Nothing more, nothing less.
If they don't cover it medicaid will. No lawyers needed for this minor bill and injury.

Hard to believe that you have already heard from them and that things are going your way. That is great to hear. I have never had anything like that happen on private property of a business or anywhere but I have had a hassle with insurance companies not wanting to pay up. When I was pregnant with my youngest I was taken to the hospital on Dec. 31st and has to stay until she was born Jan. 17th and she was still premature. Well, the union my husband belonged to at the time changed insurance companies and you guessed it, the new one took effect at midnight on the 31st. We had no idea that things were messed up until I got a phone call from the hospital one day demanding money, I had never even been sent a bill. They contacted one insurance co. and then the other and neither wanted to pay up. Well, the first one finally paid up after they found out that there were complications when I went to the hosptial and that she was a premie. Thank goodness, that was a lot of time in the hospital which means a lot of money and since there were rough times for me and my daughter they paid 100%. YIPPPPEEEEEEEEEEEE.

That's good that they are doing something about it. I think they should pay more than that, but maybe that's a bit greedy. I haven't had to deal with anything more than my own personal injury at work. I wrote up an incident report, and then went and had x-rays done. Nothing was broken thankfully. The owner of the company that I worked for paid my doctor bills, hospital bills, and my copay.

I don't even know if we have that kind of insurance here in my country Grandpa Bob. At least its a good thing despite the accident that your dad suffered. At least it doesn't compound the problem. So to answer your question, thank God! I never had such an experience or anyone from my family.

that's great for you. I'm still tussling with my insurance company on delayed baggage. They sent a reply to me asking for some more documents, but I don't see why i have to send in the original boarding pass. so i called them up, and they said the officer in charge would call me back.
but guess what? she never did.
so i called again. and they said i would need to send in these items that they had requested for, but i could ask for the original to be sent back to me if i needed it for other claims.
so I've done that. I'm not hopeful that they would return it to me, but since this claim is the largest I guess I should supply whatever they are asking for. what a hassle! I hope they send me the cheque soon!!

Yes. All bills will be taken care of.
If dad needs to see a Dr again in relation to the fall they will cover up to $5000.
Sure thing if mom would let him move in with her. Hahahaha!
A burden off my shoulders that way.

That is good to hear. We never had problems with insurance, but we did have a problem because of the waiting time for my husband to get into physiotherapy at the city hospital. They had the wrong phone number, but that had been straightened up and I hope it did not make my husband's stroke results permanent. We never had any falls or injuries on privately owned property. I did fall down the last two steps in my basement, and when I fell like due to excess ice, it was usually on a city street and I got up. Stubborn= refused help.

I have, fortunately, never had that experience but I'm very happy that the insurance company you're dealing with is behaving well. When I was taking introductory law classes, most of the suits I read about could have been avoiding if insurance companies and other defendants would just have dealt fairly with people.
