How important is handwriting in a day and age when computers are everywhere and being used by everyone? Is typing more important than handwriting, or would you place them on equal par with one another?
I am old enough to remember the days before computers, when handwriting was an essential part of our education. We learned writing in "print" as well as in "cursive". I only use cursive any more for writing my signature; other than that, if I write anything by hand, I write it out in print. But mostly, I type whatever I write.
So what do you think? How important is handwriting?

it is still important..we cant type everytime and anytime pen and paper are still more handy than laptops or any gadgets...i mean for instance in school i cant bring my laptop to type in notes that my teachers are sayign for the rest of the day so i still have my pen and paper to scribble hehehe..
but if time permits me i always type i dont like writing much...hehehe...i only write when i feel the necessity or to affix my signature...

Pen and paper are certainly cheaper in the short run, too... and pen and paper may have a little more versatility for transportation than a computer does... although with Palm Pilots and similar devices becoming more and more prevalent, I wonder if we will eventually see the eventual "extinction" of traditional writing devices?
Interesting thoughts. Thanks for your reply!
