Punctuality is an important character to be had. This is commonly known. But i find many who are slack when it comes to maintaining timings. Even though they understand the importance of punctuality they don't follow it.
Do you think punctuality affects the efficiency of the person?
Are people who follow timings more systematic?
Will they be more successful?
How far does it influence our life - directly or indirectly?

Punctuality is very important for me. I don't like waiting so I make sure people do not wait for me. And if time comes that I am running late, I make sure I find a way to let them know where I am at the moment. Being punctual reflects how responsible a person is and how he prioritizes appointments and the time of other people.

It is irresponsible to walk into an appointment late. Be it your job, a class, or whatever. And it is unfair to your colleagues, classmates or whatever.
Would you be late for a date? Sorry, but if it kept happening, it would be over between me and her. If you are going to be late, at least please please please call me and tell me.
That shows you have respect for me, and for my time.

Hi my friend,
Punctuality is very important. I've only come to realise that in the last few years.
When I used to work outside the home, I was always late. It seemed that no matter what I did, I was always 5-10 minutes late. It got me in trouble more than once.
Now I plan ahead and made sure I am early. Then if I am running late, I'm usually on time.

I have always tried to keep the practice of being prompt or punctual in each aspect in my life. It is a sign of efficiency in my estimation. If you were expecting someone to make an appointment to see you at a certain time I am sure that you would want them to show up in a timely fashion.
Being tardy can really create a domino effect on the rest of one's schedule. I have worked in offices where if a patient wasn't on time it would create a conflict of schedule for the rest of the day and we would be let out of work much later than we would have liked to. I think that punctuality does affect one's life and could also influence success.
