School shopping

Did you find it harder this year to buy school supplies and school clothes with the economy the way it is. I know that I found myself going through the clothes that they already had to try and save money. If all 4 of my kids had needed clothes(I have 2 in home school)I would have been in real trouble. As it is new shoes are coming out of this weeks food budget and will make things very tight for us. This being said I also teach a volunteer art class for which I would normally supply the kids with a art kit this year I could not afford it and have found that the people that normally donate to these kits are not able to either.
So when getting ready for the school year did you run into the same trouble or were you o.k.?

Well if only you lived closer to me lol. My children do not need school supplies it is included in their $176 school fee. And my husband this year (I guess my whole can't pass up a bargin thing has hit him too) bought school supplies when he went into the store because they were on sale for a penny. My children also wear uniforms and the school supplies 2 tops included in the school fee (we still have last years that fit well this year so I'm set on tops) and so I have to buy bottoms. I was thinking about finding a family at school that I could give his bottoms to from last year but I didn't know how well that would go. The older child needs a new karate belt and that will be extra, but I plan so well in advance it doesn't bother my budget unless something gets thrown in that I wasn't expecting lol.
