We all dream, but what about people who were born blind? Do you think they dream also?

I believe so because they are only blind but they are also human beings and has the capacity to dream dreams! I mean either dreaming while sleeping or day dreaming or dreaming for good things in life. So good luck to them.

Hi! Definitely blind people can dream too. Dreaming doesn't come from the eyes. You don't need to see to be able to dream. Dreams comes from our mind and mostly from our desires in life. I think blind people have the most wonderful dreams. They dream of seeing how beautiful the world can be. Keep dreaming and posing!

I think that blind people dream...they probably dream a lot more then we with sight do. I couldn't imagine ever being blind, but I think all people dream.

blind people dreams - blind man
Yes, blind people do have dreams. However, those blind since birth or very early childhood have no visual imagery in their dreams. Instead, they experience a very high percentage of taste, smell, and touch sensations in their dreams. The breakdown is as follows:There are no visual images in the dreams of those born without any ability to experience visual imagery in waking life. Individuals who become blind before the age of five seldom experience visual imagery in their dreams. Those who become sightless between the ages of five and seven may or may not retain some visual imagery. Most people who lost their vision after age seven continue to experience at least some visual imagery, although its frequency and clarity often fade with time. Everybody dreams... Since dreams are related to what the "brain" has exprienced, people who were blind from birth dream in "sounds & emotions"... If a person were able to "see" up until certain age, then they dream in what they can remember... Dreams are made of up of our experiences while we're awake... If the person is deaf & blind, their dream state might consist of smell, sudden memories attatched to the smells & touches...

I"m sure that they dream, but I wonder if their dreams only consist of sounds or pictures too? I'm talking about people who have been blind from birth, not people who were sighted and then lost their sight.

Hi Obviously, they do. But who born blind, see the dreams in such a manner that isn't similar to how we see. They have no idea how a butterfly may look. So there dreams are full of different sounds and imaginations. Certainly, the way one blind person dreams about butterfly, another preson won't see a butterfly in the same way as their imagination will differ.

Some facts that I found on the web: There are two categories of blind people (1). Who are blind by birth : These people do not see colors in their dream. Their dreams includes only noises & emotions. (2). Who became blind due to any happening in life: These people see colors in their dreams but the intensity of the colors is associated with the time when they last seen the colors in their original life before being blind.

Yes of course, we all are. As for the blind people their ultimate dream is to be able to see the beauty of the world. And we often take for granted the things we see with our eyes.
