I just have a though about this. its like freecycle but all people from different countries are welcome to join.
The idea is like this. Like freecycle you put the things you want to give away or if you need something, you ask the people in the group for stuffs you need. But you shoulder the expenses like the shipping fee. Pay them thru Paypal etc.
example, you need a pasta machine, people from freecycle doesnt have them so you ask people from other country if they have one and would give it away for free, you shoulder the shipping expenses.
DO YOU THINK THIS WILL WORK?

Well, craigslist has a feature like this but it's not it's main focus. I could see something like this working, and maybe for those not looking to give away free things, maybe allow a barter feature. Such as, "I'm looking for an xbox360 & willing to trade anything of equal value for it or willing to purchase it at below average price"
If I had the money to spare I would launch a site like this! I could think of numerous site names for it and i'm pretty sure that if the world is as generous as people make it sound it could be pretty popular, fairly quickly.

I might work but remember that postage is quite high! This might be alright for people who live in the same country but for those overseas that can be really difficult.

I don't think it would work world wide because of the expense of the postage. Postage here in the US is pretty high as it is. I know that if I want something I would consider the postage so it wouldn't be free. The pasta machine you mentioned id pretty heave and the postage would be at least $20.00 and you can buy one at a craft store for less than that.

I see it's an interesting ides. I have seen some groups with similar ideas on yahoo group. You can start a group here. I have tons of stuffs to give away. Just hate to throw away them thinking someone might need it.

Interesting! It might work. I don't know, would have to think on it some more. I do like freecycle though. And I think it is a good way to recycle the goods that we have without everyone always buying new. Good way to save some money too.
