I saw this subject and that there were no discussions here yet so I'm Starting one. When I decided to get a dog, I didn't want just a dog. I wanted an Aussie Shepard. I ended up with an Aussie-Springer Spaniel mix. He was a year and a half old when I got him so I didn't have to go thru the Chewing-everything-in-sight stage. He was already well trained and Housebroken. I can walk him without a leash all day long (I carry it with me anyway) and he is easily as smart as a three year old child. He's black with white markings and if someone asks if he's a border collie I just say yes. It's easier. Even though he is bigger than most BC's, about 60 pounds. He sheds like a bear, but regular brushing takes care of that. He really is the best dog in the world and he thinks I hung the moon. If only I could live up to his opinion of me. He will be 11 years old on New Years Day. But he is still as playful as a puppy. He loves attention but he isn't in my face all the time. When he was younger, He would jump and catch a Frisbee all day long. His idea. Now his favorite game is still fetch but he doesn't jump so much anymore. One thing I like about him is that I can talk to him, Not just 'Command' him. He is very attentive, but he doesn't bark at everything that moves. His name is Bongo and he is my pal. Now let's hear about YOUR Aussie.
