They went to West Palm Beach last night but were sent on to Miami this morning. I guess Maiami had more storm damage. Don't know where they'll be sent next. From what the news said today there's no telling where the storm is going. I hope nobody gets alot of damage!

He just called me a few minutes ago and they are now headed to Ft. Pierce. They didn't have anything for them to do in Miami after all. Sometimes this happens..they get shuffled around. I hope it doesn't do much damage anywhere. I hate for people's stuff to get messed up.

I do hope he is safe while down ther.. My sister-in-law is in New Smyrna Beach and has a friend who has a "safe room" where they will go until the worst is over.. I pray no one gets hurt while this bad storm is going on..

Me too. I always hate hearing about the storms coming. I don't like to think of people losing their homes, or worse yet people dying. Also,I know if it's bad my husband will be going out of town for an undetermined amount of time. I'm used to it now, but I still don't like it.
I hope your sister-in-law is safe.

Thank you. So far he hasn't seen too much damage. He said the wind is up and it's raining some, but nothing really bad yet. I hope it stays that way.
There are many lineman hurt during storm work. I worry but there isn't anything I can do about it but pray.

hi sunnflr.
Can't believe West Palm Beach got all that rain from Fay. I think they said over 6 inches. That's alot of rain! I, too, hope people are not experiencing alot of damage.
So, far I've not heard about any damage locally, here on the southwest coast. I think that's because, once Fay came on land on Marco Island (Romano Beach, I think), it started going toward the east.
We're getting steady rain and periodic wind, but no lightning or thunder. When I went outdoors at about 6 a.m. to get the newspaper, the wind turned my umbrella inside out!
I've only heard about one tornado but I didn't catch what community it was in. Hope your husband gets to come home soon.

I saw on the news that some people in the Keys were out of power. There must be people in Miami out also or they wouldn't have sent them there. What they might end up doing is working their way back up the state. They've done that in other places.
Glad you haven't had any damage!

Hey sunnflr.
Thanks, we are out of the storm's way now. We were lucky to just be on the outer edge of the storm. It rained off and on from about 2 a.m. to 7 p.m. or so. We got about 3 inches of rain. No thunder or lightning or tornadoes, just rain and gusty winds. The winds didn't get up that high--35 mph or so, I think was the highest in our area.
Guess your husband will be busy for awhile. There were lots of power outages from Key West moving on up through practically every county in FL. There were even 2600 homes in our county without power, and I was surprised about that!
Anyhoo, he's gonna be way busy, I think. Take care, sunnflr.
