I haven't met one with extra fingers before but I don't think I want my baby to have that even if others would say it's lucky. I mean, it isn't considered normal, and we know how the society works, stereotypes will scorn what isn't normal, I just hate to think that my baby will be ridiculed because of an extra finger... Still, this could be lucky, who knows?

Hi vimaal,
Maybe the baby is a very lucky but it don't matter at all as long as she is healthy and I wish your neighbour all the best.

This is called polydactily (or something like that, I've misspelled it) This link explains what is. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Polydactyly This sort of thing is not uncommon in cats as well and as well extra toes on the feet, they can have extra ears as well which makes for some very peculiar looking cats.
