Overheating iPods?

What's this news all about? I've just seen this on the CNN ticker this morning and I was alarmed of it. What's the cause of overheating iPods? What did Apple do about this issue?

I thin the batteries just over heat. I remember reading something a few months ago about someones pants leg catching fire from a hot ipod.

It must be the new models where there is design failure. It will overheat especially in hot weather.

i have an ipod classic..so far i haven't had this problem on my ipod... are the new ipods only affected or all kinds?

thats why i never preferred an ipod for myself, its just a simple craz that if you wanna have portable music , it must and must be an ipod or nothing else. there are many companies like creative and sony who give a nice jerk to music other than this simple rectangle ipod thing. Ipod sux

my ipod was the new one right and wen i fist got it over heated alot specially wen i charged it . and well it kept going really slow like ide have to press the buttion twice to just go to the menu. it was really making me mad. but i reseted it and it worked better. but it still heates up
