hurt like the dickens. My husband said it took too long to turn purple and I could bend it, so it wasn't broken. Other people tell me it could have been. I have to walk and stand for up to 7 hours today demonstrating pet food. This should be good and painful!

As my doctor told me wayyyyy back when, there's nothing much you can do fo r a broken toe but tape it to the toe next to it.

He actually said that if it were sprained OR broken, you'd still do the same thing, tape it to another to - in this case the larger one next to it.

Just gave my husband heck, why didn't he tell me that? Because he doesn't think it's broken. I just spent 7 hours at a job and the last two, I was in a lot of pain. A messed up toe, even if it's just a sprain, it hurts like crazy. Thanks and take care

Yes, my husband said, "I knew that." Well why didn't he say so? before now?

Ouchie! That does hurt. Most of the time all the doctor or hospital will do is tape the bruised/broken toe to the next toe. I've broken a toe in the past and that's what I was instructed to do. Takes forever to heal. I use to work as a demonstrator and it was a blast. I demonstrated food. The only reason I quit was because the vice president of the company sent me to the wrong store twice. She just couldn't get her act together and since her mother owned the company, there was no point in my complaining.

I like the job. But as the economy has gone down, so have my hours, 20 to 16 to 12. So I tried that ill-fated phone sales job. They're talking 10 or 8 hours this fall. I'm trying to get my sales up so I can keep the job, but I won't hold my breath.

Owie, sorry to hear about your hurt toe. I can't ever tell if my toes are broken either. I also go by the rule that, if I can move it in any way, it's not broken. I have broken my pinky toe, which was a real pain. Hope your toe isn't broken and hope it gets to feeling better very soon. Hey, congrats on getting the job to demonstrate pet food!

That job, I've had. I lost hours at it, from 20 to 16 to 12, so I tried the phone sales job that I lost. The demonstrator job, they're talking even fewer hours, 10 or 8 for fall. When they started lowering my hours, I applied for and got two other part-time jobs. One I lost when my student took his Civil Service test because I was tutoring him for it. The other you know about, that was phone sales. But I still have the demonstrator job. But if they keep lowering my hours it won't pay for my car to leave the driveway. Thanks and take care
