Cartoons of today...

What can you say about them, such as sponge bob, the grimm adventures of billy and mandy... although they are cute, funny and entertaining... don't you find them a little disturbing? To think that these cartoons are shown in childrens' network... Sometimes I notice that the children of today act and talk like the cartoons they watch, which probably means these cartoons become a role model for them. Some parents add/erase the channels their kids can/cannot watch, but as I said, these disturbing shows are broadcasted by KIDS' NETWORK. So what can we do about it. I admit I watch these shows from time to time, but I turn it off when my nephews and nieces are present. I think these shows are too violent and disturbing for their age. What do you guys think?

I don't find them disturbing at all. I mean, when I was a kid in the 80's and 90's there was Transformers, Thundercats, Power Rangers etc. I see no difference in the level of violence there is now to what there was back then. And I haven't grown up into a violent thug! ;)

But then Celebrity Deathmatch is NOT a kids show, and was never made for kids. It is made for adults. Like stuff you'd see on Adult Swim. I think the problems aren't with violent shows but with the parents who let their kids watch anything they want and impressionable kids who are stupid enough to copy things they watch.

I guess parental guidance should be strictly implemented not only advised..

I do find them disturbing but to be honest I just love watching them. Maybe kids should be accompanied by their parents while watching such shows, though its cartoons. Its like a cartoon for the young and the adult combined. So I think it's better if you accompany your children or your young ones just to be safe.

I guess parental guidance is the only answer for this...
