During summer months, it is usually fire prevention month.
What are the things you do for fire prevention. What we do is always remove appliance cords from wall outlets when we leave the house for a long time.
We make sure we don't leave candles especially the aroma therapy candles lighted. How about you what are the steps you take to prevent fire?

Those are good things to do, also check the batteries in your smoke detectors, if you don't have any, get some. Make sure you do not overload any outlets or extension cords. And with Christmas not too far away, if you have a real Christmas tree, make sure you keep it watered, and away from any heat sources. I am a wildland firefighter, and on that note, if you use a burn barrel, make sure the area around it is clear from any debris, dry grass, etc. Make sure someone is keeping an eye on it when you are actively burning trash and keep a water source nearby. If you go camping, please be responsible, use a fire ring, even if it's rocks piled up around the area. When you go to leave, pour water over it and make sure it is completely out. Most fires are started by nothing more than carelessness.
