As a born again christian I want to say it has not been easy. I was soooo...lost at one point in my life redemption was not in clear sight. However I have found my way back into the Lords favor after 15 years and I found that our Father still loves me. But now I have one question when I went back to church it's been about a year now I find that alot of the church folk are so non-supportive and so quick to judge we are talking about seasoned christians here. I remember a time when I tossed and turned all night and fought with my past and struggled to do the right things but I had no support even when I cried out for help. And I remember going through this for about 2 months not realizing the Lord really had me and now i'm wonderful. But amongst other things I'm still finding my way and i was wondering. I know the church is Gods house and I see so much disrespect there at times. I have seen people arguing, cussing, and just talking about folks the the get up and say the most beautiful prayer and praise the lord as notthing has happened. I know God is merciful and forgiving but what is this? And I sit and see people falling all over the place claiming to have the holy ghost but they have just got through creating ruckus. If that is so why would it pass me by am I not as worthy as those who have sinned and been touched by the Holy Ghost And i'm just wondering I know God said he will not dwell in an unclean house so I just wanted to ask my brothers and sisters for some insight on this topic.

I think we have really lost a respect for God and those of us who follow God. I mean I know people who will tell me to my face that they feel sorry for me that I believe in God. A lot of people don't see the church building itself as a sacred place and does disrespect the building. I think they don't see the building as a respected place which does get on my nerves as well. The one thing I don't like to see is people smoking outside the church.

I'm responding as one who believes in the Holy Spirit entirely. I am so sorry that you have not felt supported and that you have witnessed such behaviors in a "christian" environment. I would love to say that this is uncommon but it's not. I have also been in a church similar to what you describe and I felt like you have.
You bring God into church and you leave with him. Please don't think that you are being passed over or judged. Unfortunately it seems that there are people who "abuse" the Holy Spirit so to speak. They say and do things in the name of the Holy Spirit when it's untrue. This is why Full Gospel churches has gotten a bad name.
I am reminded of a couple of verses in Matthew 7: 17-20, Likewise every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, and a bad tree cannot bear good fruit. Every tree that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire. Thus, by their fruit you will recognize them.
The fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self control
(Galatians 5: 22)
I would pray about whether this church that you are going to is where you belong and pray for a deeper discernment. You already show a discernment because you are noticing things that you know are just not right. With the times that we are in there will be a lot of "falseness". Judge by the fruits and judge by using the Word of God. Anything that is said to you are done that goes aganist the Word of God is not right.
I'll be praying for you:)
