Some people just don't listen

I started painting one of my bedrooms today, and a friend showed up, and ask me if I would like some help.So I told him sure. Well I'll admit I'm not the greatest painter there is. So I bought that tape that you put along the molding and the doors, and you know so you get paint on anything except the walls. Now my friend decides he'll do one half why I do I the other. I told him to use the tape; but he said he didn't need to because he was such a good painter.Well he kept getting paint on the molding and had to keep wiping it down. Because I used the tape I was done a lot sooner then he was. I just don't know why he didn't use the tape instead thinking he was such a good painter. Which he is not, but you can't tell him that. Why is it so hard for some people to admit that their just not that good at certain things?

Some people just have too much pride to be able to admit that they're not good at certain things that perhaps they actually enjoy. It's a little unfair though when their pride starts to have an effect on others, ie your bedroom. Surely it's better to swallow your pride when it means being able to do something better because of swallowing it.

I don' dare to go up to him and tell him that he's not as good as he thinks he's is. Because he is never going to admit it. In his head he can do no wrong, and its just not at painting. Its a lot of other things he things he's good at, and he's not.

There are people like that... I think those people wouldn't never change.. One has to realize that if someone gives you an advice is because if for your own good. Is so hard to know that we will never know everything? that's the beauty of life.. that you will always learn something new..

Isn't that annoying? A bad listener just gets in the way sometimes. I know people that probably would have done the same thing. So trust me I can practically feel your frustration. I guess he was so into what he thought he could do he didn't realize that it requires a super steady hand.

I am one who does not choose to use the tape. I don't claim to be a good painter and sometimes I have to wipe it off the areas it isn't supposed to go on. But I use something called an edger and generally if you don't get the wheels in the paint, you won't get paint on molding. I could never do that with a brush though. I just don't like the hassle of using the tape. I am not good at getting tape on straight so that would have me so frustrated that I would just quit and never get the painting done. So for me, wiping the paint off is much simpler. If I were to help someone who insisted on using the tape, I would suggest to them to put the tape on first, then I would paint. I just would not be able to do the taping part without it being in little pieces just to get it straight...that would be too much trouble. The edger is a lot easier.

Using the tape or not using the tape is not what matters here. What matters here is that certain people pretend to be better then what they are.

Yes! That really irkes my nerves. People who do not listen. I go through that with my sister and she ends up being the one who is wrong. Some people do not like to admit they are wrong and in the end they realize it. Some people just dont listen.
