4-5 years ago this was my obsession. The last PC that I tinkered with is my P4 3.0 Skt478. Been running it @ 3.38ghz. Obviously my machine is kinds old and outdated. I wanna build my own costumized computer again. And of course since it's been quite a time that I have ventured into overcocking, I'm rusty. I wanna ask you people if how's the latest hardwares do with my passion, overclocking. Do they have flexibility and capability like thier fathers of 4-7 years ago? Which one is the best cpu, ram, mobo for it? Sorry, but I really like playing around with my PC hardware (just got sidelined when I became with life and work). Overclocking for my getting all my money's worth in my PC. Thanks and keep on Mylotting!

I am currently running a P4 2.80ghz at 3.09ghz using a stock cooler, however, I installed an extra case fan to help with the air flow, otherwise it runs too hot (like 65 degrees celcius) and with some careful positioning (of the fans) it now has a max temp under load of 55 degrees celcius.

No, I've never overclocking my PC. Perhaps because I am too scare to do it. Well, one of my friend back in college time, successfully fried his processor when he tried "a bit" more performance gain by overclocking. I was there so... it kind a gave me a shock.
