IE8 Beta messed up with my drive C!

i went and tried the beta version of IE today. i don't know why i even bothered. i rarely use IE anyway. i prefer firefox for browsing. so it installed okay, saw it allows for tabbed browsing (i came from IE6, no tabs there), even let me import my bookmarks from firefox which was really convenient, more visually pleasing (compared to IE6 only. nothing beats my firefox). okay so everything went fine (didn't experience the FASTER browsing they promised, though) and i was trying to find out how to add homepages friends to my search engines UNTIL i had to open my drive C. the first try i was forced to restart my computer because it hanged, the second try made me restart again, the third try (i am really hard-headed!ugh.) it finally went through my thick skull that something i installed must have messed up with my drive C. so i uninstalled a couple of programs i added to my pc before my explorer crashed every time i try to open drive C (yes, windows explorer crashes, same as uh..drwatson debugger something, something. not techie. sorry) and tried to open the drive again but NO. it refuses to do my bidding. so i uninstalled IE8 since it is the only remaining program that i have installed since the crash crash incident. to my relief, when i restarted my pc for the umpteenth time, drive C is accessible again. whew. i KNEW i should have stuck with good ol' firefox. anyone had the same problem as i did? or am i a special case?

Like yourself I prefer Firefox and hardly ever use IE; but I had to check out the new IE 8. It seemed to work find until I went into my email, and I could not see what any of the messages said. So I went and uninstalled it.
