When an Automated Teller Machine Fails

One Saturday night, I had to go out and checked the balance on my ATM account and I had my worst nightmare. Well, back to my office I have been hearing news about the Bank's system update on Friday. Most of our employees including me were affected. At 6:00 AM we were suppose to get the money but unfortunately, we were wrong. The money was delayed. As a matter of fact, it was not the worst because the following day, my colleague(not mentioning his name) went out and checked his balance and later found out that the money is not the amount he is expecting for. It was deducted. At that point, we were thinking what a poor service the bank has to offer. The first time he took a look at it, full amount was there. No withdrawals made. The same thing happened to me when I came home at 10 pm saturday. I checked my balance on my ATM account and I tried to withdraw some money and unfortunately the machine says "unavailable" so I looked around and found two ATM booths nearby. I checked my balance and it was still at 3,000 plus PHP but since the machine cannot dispense the money, I moved to another ATM machine and found out the money was only 1,000 PHP. I was in shock that night. Again, no withdrawals made at that night just checking my balance. Immediately, I called the customer service hotline of the bank but the phone banking rep told me that it was not from their end. Obviously, it is from their end because we were informed by our company when they called the bank itself they told our managers that the bank had a system update on friday. I called in again and talked to another rep and finally she admitted that there were system updates from their end and it will be resolved 5-6 business days. This is just an experience of what poor customer service is all about*******
