Well in the wake of Fay it is next to impossible to get a dehumidifier in Jacksonville FL! I have to have one! We discovered mold in the Sunroom (my studio!) and need to get the moisture out of that room. Well we ended up having to order 2 small ones from walmart.com and have them delivered to the house between thursday and monday.
Have you ever needed something and can't find it anywhere in the town you live in?

We had alot of flooding here last year, and you could not find a dehumidifier or bleach.

We live in a small town in the desert, about 100 miles from the nearest real city, so we have to pack in or order in many things. For example, last night I had to pay a $40 shipping charge to get delivery on a big bag of grow rocks for my hydroculture plants. The shipping was twice the cost of the plants. The rock wool cubes helped average it out though, because they weigh practically nothing.

HMMMM never heard of that. Enlighten me all that i have is one aerogarden lol. That is the extent of my hydrogardening.
I will say that the delivery charge for our cinders was more than the freakin' cinders!
I hate shipping charges but when you can't get it local what can you do?

That happens sometimes, but not that often. If it does happen, there is always the internet. I can think of a case though, off of the top of my head, not of something that was needed, but something we really WANTED, but could not get in town. My friend and I drove about 80 miles to get a case of some kind of German_liquor he'd been looking for, and coudln't find in Guelph. That day we were in the mood for a drive, so we went for it. :)
