mp3 player battery empty after all night connected to computer

Hi everyone, something strange happens this morning.. Last night I left my mp3 player connected to the computer to charge the battery, after 1 hour I turned off the computer and I left the mp3 player connected to the computer all night and this morning the player won't turn on.. Does the off computer consumes all the battery of the mp3 player?? My mp3 player is an very old IMODO F700 1GB.. Does this happens to you? or is a problem of my player?
