Jeans for women

Alright ladies here's my problem. I go to the store to buy some jeans, go to try them on and wow - there's a big gap in the back. Why do some jeans fit just right in the front at the waist but in the back they hang open with a big gap? What is the gap for exactly? Do they think people are bigger on the back than the front? Also why are some jeans so long at the bottom? Are women getting taller these days? You can find the perfect jean - or so you think and then it's all ruined because they're way too long. I seem to spend a lot of time going to different stores only to be disappointed when I try the jeans on. Does anyone else seem to have this problem?

I thought it was just me. I have no idea what the gap is about, but I have the same problem and end up just buying the pants and using a belt because it's hard to find pants that fit right. I don't consider myself short at 5'6, but the jeans make me feel extremely short when there is so much extra fabric at the bottom. I sometimes shop in the junior's section, but it isn't always much better there.

Well I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. Yes, I try the junior department too but it seems their jeans are extra long.
