Flooding conditions ...

Have you had a lot of rain in your area ? Have there been flooding conditions ? What has this done in the area you live in ? Has this caused problems for you to get to and from work or where you need to go . We have had more rain in the last few weeks then I have seen in years . It is washing out roads and highways , and taking out some of the bridges . I thought we had it bad where I live but then was looking at pictures from the area where a good friend of mine lives . It was insane !! There were roads that didn't look like roads but more like rivers and lakes . There were pictures of children swimming in the parking lots of shopping malls . It showed railroad tracks completely washed out and people driving where the water came right up to there windows . My friend had called me because she wasn't sure how she was going to get home from work tonight as they had closed off many of the roads because there was too much damage or flooded to back that you wouldn't make it through at all . She has to get home as she has three little one's to take care of and can't afford to pay a babysitter because she can't make it home . I just thought it was crazy in my area but realized that where she lived was even worse . Have you seen all the rain , what has it done to your area ?

It rains here all the time and I never get to play soccer much anymore . The roads washed away by our house and when I went out on my bike it was hard to get around . There is more rain now then it ever rained before . It is still warm but you can't go outside and do anything cause it is so wet out . I saw pictures on the internet that showed where they had so much rain it was flooding really really bad . It was funny to see some of them becasue they had kids swimming in the roads they had that much rain and another person was trying to fish on the road .

We are far enough away from the coasts that we are not getting flooding conditions. I was out of town for a couple of days and it does look like we had some heavy rains. I have seen it flood badly enough here that I watched a VW Beetle float down the street, but my yard and house are up higher than that. That was several years ago. I hope your friend finally made it home safely and is with her little kids.

I can't imangine seeing a VW Beetle float down the street , it would really be a sight to see but kind of scary at the same time lol . I don't know if she made will make it home or not she works for another couple of hours and I won't get to speak to her til tomorrow as she lives 8 hours away from me , I will be thinking of her all night . Thanks for your response .

I have seen a big change over the years as to how the rain affects the land. When I was a teen, if it rained and flooded, the river would stay flooded for days. Now when it rains, if it does flood, the next day, the water is back down again. Also I have noticed that the level of the water is not what it used to be. By years gone by standards, the river is low.
