I work for a large communications company, BT, and within the company there are BT contractors and Agency staff. I was just wondering if at any other companies there is such a big divide between agency staff and contracted staff.
I have been an agency worker for 3 years at BT and have never received a pay rise and never really get any praise for the work we do. The BT staff on the other hand receive a pay rise each year and get endless praise for the little amount of work they actually do. A good example of the divide is that management and higher management have different rules than agency. We (agency) have set times for breaks and lunch but BT staff get to go when they like. Also the manner we are spoke to like we are office monkeys, they say jump and we say how high. But the main problem is that the agency staff can't stand up to BT staff because they seem to go snitching to higher management if you put a foot wrong. If agency did this, higher management wouldn't be bothered or really care.
So is this just BT or other work places all across the world?
