Creating a timeline

Maybe you can offer some good advice or something i havent thought of. At this moment i need other avenues that do not take a financial obligation. Here goes the story. In 2003 my mother passed away. About 4 months or more later my sister and i found out that we have different dads. My Aunt whom at the time seem to be the only one left with information decided she was protecting my mothers secret and took it to the grave with her. We were raised in Quad Cities area. I have posted free online adds there and craigslist. I was told for years that my fathers name was William Hillman. When i got further into doing a family tree and researching online my mother told me his name was Heilman. Not sure of the spelling or which one is true. I know he was 17yrs older than my mother Judy Marie Howard b.1/23/45. He was also a gemini. She used to make jokes about my stepfather and real father having the same name and birth sign. I know he owned at least one bar. And am pretty sure it was on the Illinois side. From stories my nanna told me i have more than a few half brothers and sisters. I am trying to create a timeline of her life to see if we can find anyone still alive who might remember anything. Something small could turn out to be a valuable clue. We have a picture of her with a man that we want to try to identify. I posted this pic also on craigslist and the free quad cities area online classifieds. I dont know if i can post the pic on my profile or not will check it out. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated.

If you ARE able to establish at least a base timeline then maybe you could check licensing records that the state may have dating back some time? If your Father did own a bar he may have been the licensee also and would have had to register his details. There surely would not have been a huge number of licenses issued for something like this at the time so it may be a good lead also. Good luck!
