Litter Kwitter?!

Have you heard of or had personal experience with getting your cat to use a Litter Kwitter?
It's basically a toilet training program to train your cat to use the toilet like a human.
My partner has bought it for our two cats and I have to say I have my doubts! It would certainly be nice to be free of stinky litter trays, but our cats are three years old now and I wonder if the system is more successful with kittens. My girls are particularly stubborn too.
I suppose there's only one way to find out!

Never heard of an actual program to train them to do that! We just got a new kitten and I'd love even just one less cat to clean a nasty box up after I'd do it. Though I wonder do they have accidents like men & just leave their mess? *LOL* J/K but wondering if it always hits the target area once they are trained?
GL to you if you can get your cats to cooperate!

This video might help you out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut7gm2tFqWY
There's a lot of stuff on potty training kitties on YouTube.
The most important thing seems to be to do it really slowly. If you push them too fast they'll rebel and make a mess!
It says that as long as the cat is over 3 months old, you should be able to train any cat to do it.
We've watched the training DVD and some of the out-takes are hilarious!

Even adult cats can be taught new things. You need to keep them motivated and reward them often. Also stay consistent, train them at similar times of the day and keep the sessions short (15 mins at best) or their attention will wander.
I've never heard of litter kwitter but I do know it is possible to teach your cat to use the toilet. I've seen it on youtube and read about it in magazines. What kind of a training tool is litter kwitter? Is it a video? or a little potty for the kitty?

It's hard work, but they're worth it!
The kit itself comprises of different sized potties that you fill with litter and fit over the toilet. They have a hole in the centre that gets bigger with each stage until finally you take the last one off and you're just left with the regular toilet.
Were you thinking of trying it for your own cats?

I've heard of similar things, but I don't want to share my potty with my cats. What if I'm using it when someone else wants to? I'd rather let them use their own. We often use them together as it is. We have a few that need to be refreshed on litter box use; I wouldn't like to try anything new.

We wouldn't share the toilet. Luckily we have a downstairs loo in a cold area of the house. It's really isolated and we don't tend to use it much now and it's where the litter trays are anyway. That would be the kitty toilet!

I've never heard that, but i once know when i reading a comic book, training a cat to use the litter by wetting the litter itself, they like to pup in a humid places, or you can give a sand arround the litter kwitter, hopes it will work

Thanks for the tips! My partner and I are hoping to make time later today to watch the training DVD and hopefully then we can get them started. Here goes!
