well this is how our day started this morning, (mine and my bf's) he was getting ready for work like usual, and i was cleaning up the table because Austin (my son) just finished breakfast. well my bf gave us kisses and hugs on his way out the door, then 2 seconds later he comes in and says "um where's my car"?!! I was like WHAT!!?? yeah right stop playing. well sure enough his car was gone, a few thoughts ran through my mind at that point, "did he sleep walk and move his car?" " was one of his friends playing a joke?" well we walked to end of our drive way and looked down the street and our car was parked in the next drive way. well then I went back to my original thoughts, I ruled out the fact that he could have slept walked because he wasn't drinking last night (he does when drinking and only when drinking) well he went and retrieved his car (which by the way the house that it was parked at is abandoned) well we called the police. he's a vacuum salesman so all the vacuums we gone, our camcorder with all of our son's pictures/home videos were on it. his GPS, and a number of other things. well we went to the house across the street in hopes that they may have seen something? well she was like oh that's normal my car has been hit twice. it's like oh gee thanks for telling us! so yeah that was my morning. yeah and he did bring inside his credit cards and house keys so they weren't able to get inside. but he did leave his spare key to the car in the center console, although his door was locked, so the unlocked the door found the keys, moved the car down the street to steel everything. we are now getting a home security system, a car alarm, and he is going to park the car in the garage. sadly we live in a quite neighborhood and that's usually where target first.

When I was a kid, I pushed the car to the end of the block so my parents wouldn't hear it start, so I could go to the beach and surf all night. It's not uncommon to push a car to another location to keep it quiet. Considering all we know about crime these days, though, it is unusual for anyone to leave things where anyone can easily get to them. I discovered through experience that house alarms are a pain. Tt a small fortune, and the police came once the NEXT DAY! What good is that? Then they charged me for a false alarm, because I figured they weren't coming after several hours and cleaned up the mess. Even the alarm company said people rarely pay attention to the house alarm or the car alabecause they go off for no reason so often. What I really don't get is keeping the car outside so there's room for all the useless junk in the garage. I'm the only one in the neighborhood who parks in the garage, and I've often had to run around trying to figure out who's parked in my driveway at 5:30 AM, because they insist nobody lives in my house becaus there are no cars in the driveway. I bought a house with a huge garage so the car would be accessible without going out in the rain! You'e surprised at the way people get angry with me for ding to leave the house to go to work!

well we just bought this house 2 months ago and still haven't gotten all our stuff unpacked, so we left in the garage. and like I said his keys were in the car so they used them to move the car (they were in the center console and ended up in the front seat when we discovered the car this morning) and it's just me and my son alone all day long from 9:30 am till 11:00 or later every day. (my bf works long hours)so yeah i think an alarm will make me feel safe.

Darlin', anything that gives you a sense of security is priceless. Do whatever you can to feel more secure! It will certainly be money well spent

I have never heard anything like that before in my life. The thieves moved the car down the street to an abandon house to steal the things out of it. You were lucky they didn't damage the car. I thought you were going to say that the car rolled into another drive way. The nerve of those thieves. That is one for the books. I am happy to hear you got your car back safe. Sorry for the things that were stolen.

thanks, and it was strange to me too, why didn't they take the car? they could have, I guess it wasn't as valuable as the stuff inside.
